Ant Control

Ant treatments are pest-specific and targeted. While some ant activity may appear localised, ants often nest in hidden areas and can enter through multiple points. For this reason, a full treatment is commonly recommended for stronger long-term control.

Common Ant Activity Areas

  • Kitchens and pantries (benches, cupboards, and food storage areas)

  • Under sinks, around plumbing, and wet areas (bathrooms/laundries)

  • Skirting boards, cracks and crevices, and wall edges

  • Doorways, windows, weep holes, and other entry points

  • Outdoor edges around walls, paths, pavers, and garden beds

  • Around bins, pet bowls, compost areas, and outdoor eating areas

Common Ants

  • Argentine Ant

  • Black House Ant

  • Bulldog Ant (Bull Ant)

  • Coastal Brown Ant (Big-head Ant)

  • Pharaoh’s Ant

  • Singapore Ant

  • White-footed House Ant (aka Black Ants)

  • Carpenter Ant (aka Sugar Ants)

  • Odorous House Ant

Important Safety Note

In most ant treatments involving baiting and targeted crack-and-crevice applications, people and pets may remain on the property. If an internal spray treatment is required, all occupants and pets must leave the property and remain out until treated surfaces are fully dry, usually 2–4 hours. Food items, utensils, and exposed surfaces should be covered or removed prior to treatment.

Preparation Required (Before Treatment)

To ensure a safe and effective service, please complete the following before our technician arrives:

  • Remove or cover food, utensils, and pet bowls

  • Wipe down benches and food prep areas where possible

  • Store open food in sealed containers (especially in kitchens and pantries)

  • Clear access to areas where ants have been seen (under sinks, cupboards, skirting etc)

  • Reduce clutter around active areas to allow treatment and bait placement

  • Keep pets away from treatment areas if required

  • If possible, avoid using household sprays or strong cleaners on ant trails for 24 hours before treatment (this can affect baiting)

Preparation Required (After Treatment)

To ensure the treatment works effectively and keeps everyone safe:

  • Keep people and pets away from treated areas until fully dry (usually 2–4 hours if spraying is carried out)

  • Do not wipe or clean treated surfaces for at least 48 hours

  • Avoid mopping floors for 48 hours unless advised

  • Do not disturb bait placements or treated nesting areas

  • Some ant activity may increase briefly before reducing as treatments take effect

  • Contact us if ant activity persists beyond the recommended timeframe
