Possum Control

We provide a roof space inspection to confirm possum activity and, where required, set a humane cage trap in the roof space (where safe and accessible).

Common Possum Activity Areas

  • Roof spaces and ceiling cavities

  • Eaves, rooflines, and broken/loose tiles or gaps

  • Wall cavities and vents

  • Garages, sheds, and pergolas (especially roof corners)

  • Trees and fence lines close to the roof (common access paths)

  • Under solar panels or other roof structures (where accessible)

Common Possums

  • Brush Tail Possum

Important Safety Note

For possum inspections and trap set services, occupants can remain on the property. Please keep children and pets away from the work area, including the manhole/roof access point, while our technician is inspecting the roof space and installing the trap. Do not touch or move the trap once installed. If the trap is triggered, contact us as soon as possible so we can arrange collection/removal.

What’s Included

  • Roof space inspection to check for possum activity

  • Check for droppings, nesting areas, and visible entry points

  • Cage trap set and left in the roof space (where safe and accessible)

  • Return visit to collect the trap

  • Advice on next steps and how to reduce future activity

  • Minor make-safe (where accessible): reposition unbroken displaced tiles and/or install a temporary barrier to an accessible opening

Minor Make-Safe (Included)

  • Reposition unbroken tiles that have been displaced by possums

  • Install a temporary barrier/cover to an accessible gap or opening to help reduce further entry

This is a temporary measure only. Permanent repairs must be completed by a qualified roof plumber or roof tiler.

How it Works

We inspect the roof space and confirm signs of possums (if present), then set a cage trap in the roof space and leave it in place. If the trap is triggered, you contact us and we arrange removal/collection, and we return at the agreed time to collect the trap. Please note that possum capture may take time and can’t be guaranteed on the first night.

Legal Release Requirement (Important)
Possums are protected wildlife. By law, if a possum is trapped it must be released on the same property it was captured on, no more than 50 metres from the capture site, after sunset on the day of capture. Relocating possums to another location is not permitted by law.

Access Requirements (Important)

This service is available for single-storey properties only, where roof access is safe and accessible via the manhole and there is sufficient clearance to work safely in the roof space. We do not service two-storey homes or properties with high or difficult access, or roof spaces that are unsafe due to limited access, structural issues, excessive heat, electrical hazards, or other safety concerns. If we arrive and the roof space cannot be accessed safely, we’ll discuss the options with you before proceeding.

Important Roof Note (No Permanent Repairs)

We do not provide permanent roof repairs or roof restoration. Any tile repositioning or temporary barriers installed are intended as a short-term make-safe only. Permanent repairs must be completed by a qualified roof plumber or roof tiler.
